Rey Feo 76 Visits Over 100 Schools: A Journey of Inspiration, Education, and Community
Over the course of several weeks between January and April, Rey Feo 76, Fabian Castillo Jr., visited more than 100 schools across San Antonio, connecting directly with students and educators in a heartfelt campaign rooted in community and education. But this effort was more than ceremonial—it was a reflection of careful planning, collaboration, and a deep belief in the power of investing in our youth.
Guided by a strategy developed with the Rey Feo Education Committee, each visit was designed to be meaningful and intentional. A phased approach helped structure outreach—starting with Focus ISD schools, followed by schools tied to court members, and then expanding to additional campuses nominated by the community. Visits were scheduled and clustered efficiently to allow maximum impact and presence throughout the city.
Books were also a part of the outreach, carefully selected to align with that message. Chasing Dreams by Kobi Yamada and Dale Ganas by Bonnie Garcia were chosen for their themes of self-reflection and ambition, and were donated to schools as lasting tools of encouragement.
To amplify engagement, videos and social media content were developed. Hype videos and QR code activations added a layer of excitement, while also helping extend the experience beyond the school day. Fabian’s own story—rising from humble beginnings on San Antonio’s West Side to becoming a successful entrepreneur and Rey Feo—was shared with authenticity and pride, resonating deeply with students and educators alike.
During each visit, students were recognized with medals or mementos, while counselors and principals were celebrated for their dedication to student success. It wasn’t just about a visit—it was about building confidence, showing appreciation, and inspiring hope.
For high schools, the approach evolved. Recognizing that assemblies may not connect as effectively, the team shifted to focus on scholarship outreach, college fairs, and digital content that speaks directly to older students in ways that resonate with their needs and realities.
In total, this initiative became much more than a tour. It was a reminder that leadership is about presence, purpose, and heart. Fabian Castillo Jr. brought those qualities to every interaction—reminding students that they are seen, that they matter, and that their dreams are worth chasing.
