Laredo’s Washington’s Birthday Celebration
Each year, the City of Laredo comes alive with the Washington’s Birthday Celebration (WBCA)—a month-long festival filled with parades, pageantry, and cultural traditions that honor the life and legacy of our nation’s first president.
As one of the largest and oldest celebrations of its kind in the United States, WBCA serves as a bridge between communities, drawing thousands of visitors from across Texas, Mexico, and beyond. From dazzling parades and military tributes to lively concerts and civic events, the celebration showcases the spirit of unity, pride, and tradition that defines the border region.
This year, Fabian Castillo Sr., Rey Feo LXXVI, proudly participated in the festivities, representing San Antonio’s Fiesta tradition on this statewide and international stage. His presence underscored the enduring partnership between San Antonio and Laredo, while also highlighting the Rey Feo Scholarship Foundation’s mission of advancing education through culture and community.
