Jefferson Moore | Military Minister

Jefferson Moore, former district judge for the State of Texas, continues to serve as a sitting judge on an assigned basis throughout the region.

A resident of San Antonio since 1997, when the Army assigned him to Fort Sam Houston, Jefferson has a legacy of service to our Nation and State. After graduating from the ROTC program at Tulane University with a degree in business management, Jefferson served in the US Army Corps of Engineers as a member of the National Guard while attending law school at Loyola University of New Orleans. Following a stint as an assistant district attorney in Louisiana, Jefferson joined the US Army JAG Corps as a military lawyer. He served assignments in Panama, Bolivia, Egypt, Korea, Japan, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, and Honduras. He is also a paratrooper and a graduate of the US Army Air Assault School. He retired as a major.

After over a decade in private practice, Jefferson served as the presiding judge for the 186th District Court in Bexar County for two terms, handling felony criminal matters. As a trial attorney, Jefferson has participated in 150 trials as a lawyer and 100 trials as a judge. He is now a mediator in private practice.

Jefferson is married to Aida Rojas Moore, an attorney who runs her law firm focusing on family law matters. They attend Holy Trinity Catholic Church and serve as trainers for parents baptizing their children. An avid outdoorsman, Jefferson also enjoys reading histories and biographies.
